Hot Rye

1 tsp sugar dissolved in a little hot water (4 dashes)
1 piece cinnamon (1/2 oz, 1.5 cl, 1/8 gills)
2 oz rye (6 cl, 1/2 gills)
1/2 oz fresh lemon juice (optional) (1.5 cl, 1/8 gills)
Fill with hot water
Serve in a rocks glass (6.0 oz)
