Description

Generic for whiskey made and aged in the United States and mixed with grain neutral spirits thereafter. Blended whiskey differs from the term whiskey, a blend in that the latter term refers to a blending of straight whiskeies and not neutral spirits with whiskey.

Availability

Generally available. Produced and sold in United States. Distributed world-wide. Available for on-line ordering in some markets.

Substitute

bourbon or rye whiskey, cut with vodka (to thin the whiskey flavor and emulate the light character of a blended whiskey,) straight bourbon or rye whiskey
